Helptopic: Search

A search word may be any sequence of letters and digits. Upper or lower case is not significant. Example: gotland.

Optionally, the search word may be followed by or preceded by an asterisk (*), which matches any sequence of characters at the end or beginning of a word. Example: gotland* will match both gotland and gotlandskaninen among other things. And *kaninen will match both kaninen and gotlandskaninen. Finally *ndska* will match gotlandskaninen and many other things. The asterisk (*) match only works at the beginning or the end (or both) of a search word, not in the middle.

A plus sign (+) in front of a word makes it a required match. This is only relevant for the "match any of the words" choice.

A minus sign (-) in front of a word makes it a required non-match, i.e. anything that contains a match for that word will not be shown. This is relevant for both the "match any" and "match all" choices.

A word or phrase embedded between a pair of double quotes (") requires that the words in that phrase are matched in exactly that order, and including any punctuation within the phrase. Example: "visby, gotland". This will only work for the "match all of the words" choice.
